Our production team consists of Audio Engineers, Video Directors, Cameras, presentations, and Lighting Operators that all help create the atmosphere of all The Refuge services.  Don’t be intimidated, our very best audio, video, and lighting volunteers had no experience.

DIRECTOR REQUIREMENTS

Directing at The Refuge gives structure and creativity to the services. The Director position is in the Control Room. The position works with Technical Director calling camera shots and cueing lights and presentations throughout the service. The Director also manages the service recording and live stream.

Training Director training is required for 2-4 Sundays before being put on the schedule. This position is located in the Control Room. Switcher, presentation, and camera knowledge are required.

Requirements Come prepared knowing songs on planning center. Understand the basic structure of a song (verse, chorus, bridge, etc). Have moderate experience on Mac computers. Switcher, Presentation, and Camera knowledge is required, must have worked each position before directing. 6:30 am call time on Sunday mornings. Able to serve at both 9 am and 11 am services. Able to focus on the service and cue the other production positions.

Position Practice during morning rehearsal with the band. Help Camera Operators set up, check through any media for service on ProPresenter. Direct Camera Operators and Technical Director during 9 and 11 am services. Live stream and record both services.

PRESENTATION REQUIREMENTS

Presentation at the Refuge is vital because it provides the lyrics during worship and notes during the sermon. It not only enhances the service in the auditorium but enables the live stream and other campuses to have the same experience.

Training Presentation training is required for 1-2 Sundays before being put on the schedule. This position is located in the Control Room.

Requirements Come prepared knowing songs on planning center. Understand the basic structure of a song (verse, chorus, bridge, etc). Have moderate experience on Mac computers. 6:30 am call time on Sunday mornings. Able to serve at both 9 am and 11 am services. Able to focus during the service and follow the worship team with lyrics.

CAMERAS REQUIREMENTS

Cameras at the Refuge are a vital part of our services. The camera shots are used for the side screens in the auditorium, live stream, other campuses, and the sermon recording. They provide creativity in the service and accessibility to the services outside of the church with the live stream. They not only enhance the actual service but allows people to participate online.

Training Camera training is required on Camera 1, 2, or 3 for one Sunday before being put on the schedule. Wireless Cameras requires an additional Sunday of training.

Requirements No previous camera experience is needed. Come prepared knowing songs on planning center. 8:00 am call time on Sunday mornings. Able to serve at both 9 am and 11 am services. Able to focus during the service and follow the movement on the stage.

Position Be in position at the 5 min countdown. Run camera for 9 and 11 am services.

LIVE STREAM AUDIO REQUIREMENTS

BOH audio provides support for worship and preaching that touches our online campus. Our goal is to add to the worship experience and provide a consistent sound at the Refuge via online. Training: Audio training is required for 2-4 Sundays before being put on the schedule. This position is located in the Control Room.

Requirements Musical or previous audio experience/knowledge. Come prepared knowing songs on planning center. Understand the basic structure of a song (verse, chorus, bridge, etc). Understand the different band positions and roles. Have moderate experience on Mac computers. 6:30 am call time on Sunday mornings. Able to serve at both 9 am and 11 am services. Able to focus during the service and be ready for any audio cues.

Lighting at the Refuge is a huge role in the weekend services and events. It provides a dynamic environment for worship and preaching. Our goal is to add to the worship experience and offer new and exciting creativity.

Training Lighting training is required for 1-2 Sundays before being put on the schedule. This position is located in the Auditorium.

Requirements Come prepared knowing songs on planning center. Understand the basic structure of a song (verse, chorus, bridge, etc). Have moderate experience on Mac computers. 6:30 am call time on Sunday mornings. Able to serve at both 9 am and 11 am services. Able to focus during the service and be ready for any lighting cues.

Position Practice during morning rehearsal with the band. Set up prayer lights. Run the hazer for preservice, and monitor it throughout the service. Set up preservice lights. Be in position at the 5 min countdown. Run lights for 9 and 11 am services.
